(Prompt by: Gwen Bell)
We are afraid of truth, afraid of fortune, afraid of death, and afraid of each other. Our age yields no great and perfect persons. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
You just discovered you have fifteen minutes to live.
1. Set a timer for fifteen minutes.
2. Write the story that has to be written.
My daughter. I don’t even know what to say. 15 minutes just isn’t enough. How can I say goodbye when we’ve barely had time to say hello. I want you to grow up to be your true self. That’s such a hard thing when you have so many outside factors against you. You are such a happy baby right now. Don’t let anyone take that away from you. I want to be there to guide you. To support you. In a way I will be. I stepped away from the people that cause me pain, I hope you have the courage to do the same. Don’t let anyone tell you that you cant do something. You can do anything. Everything you want to do is within your power. You have to work hard for it though and it wont be easy. You might even fail a lot. But you are stubborn. I know you wont give up.
Be good to your daddy. He will struggle. He might even think to give up. I don’t know what would have happened if we hadn’t met but I know this will be difficult for him. Make him smile. He will try to be strict but he is really a push over. Just make him laugh and everything will be okay.
Its so hard. How can I protect you from all of the bad things that are out there when I am not with you. Baby please you are more than what everyone will tell you otherwise. Don’t forget that. You don’t have to do what everyone else does. Make your own path. If there was anything I could teach you it would be that. There’s not enough time to explain it all. Read a lot. But take a lot of action. If you want to learn something learn. But then put it to work.
Don’t sit still. Run, play. Go crazy every once in awhile. Love your father. Tell him everyday how much I loved him. Give him lots of kisses and hugs and just take his hand and don’t let go every once in awhile.
Grow up. But stay playful. Life is too short to be too serious. Don’t forget that I am always by your side. Supporting you. And always loving you. I always gave you 3 kisses when you go to sleep. Once on your head for good thoughts dreams and a healthy brain. Once on your noise for health. And once on the lips for love. I love you my baby. I love your daddy. I love you both so much. I have to go but don’t forget that, above anything else. I love you.
